[laughs a little, but then]

...I guess the main point is, you know. I love you.

[ it's not the first time he's said it but it still make his heart thump against his chest and he wants to say it back or - shifts a little. ]

[ the joke would be "i know," but instead he asks sincerely: ] My turn now?

I could probably go for another hour, but I guess you can take over.

[ laughs: ]

If there's something bigger than saying you love me, than be my guest, but don't think I'm falling for you trying to get to distract me out of your turn.

[teasing, though, so he falls silent and waits]

[ shakes his head and squeezes his hand ]

I've had like half the night to think about this and there's still so much I could still say not enough.

You're genuinely the best person I know. You're good, like so good. And you care about the people around you a lot. You're always worried about them or trying to care for them. And even when you don't have to you try so hard to be there for them and you're a great listener.

[reaches for his hand, coloring a little more]

[ takes it. he doesn't quite look at him even if he remains sincere as he continues: ]

And I know you don't think you have a talent, but I think you're wrong and you just can't see it. Your talent is with people and how easily you can make them feel at home with you.

But I also think you're braver and stronger than you give yourself credit for. You're probably the bravest person I've ever met. We don't talk about it - but I know you've been through a lot, but you're still looking forward? You're finding your own place and you never fail to look out for the people around you while you do.

[covers his face with his hand]

[ can't help but laugh ]

[ but can he remove his hand to look at him is the question ]

Anyone would be lucky to get to know you. For everything you are. You're smart and fun to be around. You might be a little bit of a nerd, but it's in the best way. You light up any room you're in - literally. And you have such an amazing faith in people and not everyone does -

[ a breath as he looks back up. ]

[ oh well. this is apparently an acceptable interruption - or an interruption he had been close to himself a few minutes prior because he's very happy to forget saying anything else he might have added to kiss him back]

[smiles into it, shifting to bring his hand up to cup phoenix's cheek]

[ his own hand goes to wrap around gingham's neck as he shifts closer, deepening the kiss a little more than he's chanced before ]
